The purpose of the fundraising foundation is to support people who, despite their disability, work to ensure that others have good living conditions and are participants in society.
We also want to highlight these individuals to inspire others to focus on abilities, #MyAbility, rather than disabilities.
Lars Ahlenius and Johan Wedenius
In 2018, Lars Ahlenius and Johan Wedenius met at a workplace that worked to help people with disabilities find and keep a job. At an early stage, they discovered the shared passion for helping people to be included in society.
One day Lars came to work and told Johan that the medical industry had developed a medicine that would not only stop Lars' progressive disease, but could partially restore Lars, which would mean that in the long run he could get around without either a wheelchair or crutches.
The cost of the treatment would exceed Lars' net salary for the next 10 years. So there was no possibility for Lars to ever pay himself and the state had decided not to finance the cost.
They refused to accept the situation and after a few months decided to start the foundation.
